Director of Engineering to lead multidiscipline engineering teams in RF/microwave, electrical, mechanical and software design and implementation. Must be well versed in the latest technologies and in the transitioning of development programs to manufacturing. Manage satcom equipment and systems for both ground based and airborne platforms. Manage the development of specifications for RF hardware and software systems based on customer requirements including the evaluation and selection of vendors and partners. Development and oversight of the entire budget for the engineering department. Evaluation of customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements. Manage the development of system-level architectures and the decomposition into lower level requirements. Manage the implementation of new or enhanced RF equipment and systems for satellite earth stations and gateways, satellite in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems and satellite communication systems. Manage the introduction of new products and technologies to both new and existing customers and provide feedback to management on customers needs /concerns and products.
Must have knowledge of aviation standards /certifications including but not limited to ARINC, DO160, DO254, and FAA certifications. Customer focused orientation with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and the ability to present company proposed solutions, products and services to customers, partners and vendors. B.Sc. /M.Sc. Electrical Engineering with progressive engineering experience in satcom and/or terrestrial or wireless telecom equipment development. Background in RF/microwave design and/or program management and experience managing diverse multidiscipline engineering teams in the satellite communications field on commercial and government programs. Background in frequency converters, (BUC / BDC) high power amplifiers (HPA), transceivers, and solid-state power amplifiers (SSPA) for commercial / military use.
